For academies

Delegate the teaching. Keep the school.

An academy runs on delegation: someone else records the lessons, someone else answers the threads. Coursio assigns an instructor to a course — never to the school — measures what learners actually completed, and issues the credential in the school's name.

The assignment is scoped to one course. Maria can author its curriculum, replace its lesson media and answer its community. Offers, orders, revenue, staff, branding and billing are not in her navigation at all.

Completion is written per lesson and per attempt, from the enrollment record. Nothing here is a self-report: the score below is attempt 2 of a 12-question assessment.

    Certificate NS-4821-KQ issued

The proof belongs to the school, not to the instructor who taught the course. Its public page states the course, the school and the issue date — the learner's email never appears on it.

Sample data for design review. This is one chain — an assignment, a completion, a proof — not a summary of school performance. Coursio does not publish outcome statistics it did not measure.

A teaching team is a list of ceilings

Adding a person to your school is not a trust exercise. Every role resolves to a fixed set of things it can and cannot reach, and the product shows that set instead of describing it in a help article.

A school with no courses yet renders “No courses yet — create the first”, with the create action attached. A failed read of the course list says so and offers a retry; it never renders an empty table as if the school were empty.

Assessment

Completion is measured, not assumed

Progress is written per lesson from real playback and per attempt from real answers. Where a learner stopped is a fact the school can read, so a stalled module is visible while it can still be fixed.

Sample cohort. The drop at Module 4 is the kind of thing an academy wants to see before the certificate queue dries up — the school reads it, the assigned instructor reads it for that course, nobody outside the school reads it at all.

Attempts are recorded per learner, including the ones that did not pass.

Scope, stated plainly: assessments here are Coursio quizzes attached to a recorded course. There is no proctoring, no essay marking queue and no import of an assessment authored somewhere else.

The proof outlives the enrollment

A certificate that stops resolving the day a learner's access ends is not a credential, it is a receipt. Coursio issues the proof in the school's name and keeps the public code resolving after the course is retired, the instructor moves on or the tenant is exported.

Issued by the school
Northstar Studio appears on the proof. An assigned instructor never issues a credential in their own name, and removing them does not invalidate one.
Immutable completion record
The lessons and attempt that earned it are frozen at issue time. Editing the course afterwards changes what future learners do, not what a past learner completed.
Revocation is a visible state
A revoked certificate resolves to Revoked, with its date. Nothing is deleted quietly and no code silently starts returning nothing.
Survives export
Certificate codes keep verifying after a tenant export. Continuity is part of what you take with you, not something you lose by leaving.

A code that does not exist returns “No certificate matches this code”, not a blank page. An unreachable verification service says it is unreachable rather than reporting the certificate invalid.

Open decision

Certificate signing-key custody is not settled

Who holds the key that signs a Coursio certificate — the platform, the school, or both — is still being decided. Until it is, the product labels the custody state on the certificate surface instead of implying a guarantee it cannot yet make.

Every school is a tenant. Reporting stops at the boundary.

An academy that runs several schools gets several isolated schools — not one shared pool with filters over it. There is no report that merges two schools' learners, because there is no place where those learners meet.

What Coursio does not do

Said here rather than discovered in month two. If one of these is a requirement, Coursio is the wrong platform for that part of your academy.

  • Recorded courses onlyNo live classes, cohorts with scheduled sessions, or webinar hosting.
  • No SIS integrationNo roster sync with a student-information system, and no automated enrolment feed from one.
  • No SCORM, xAPI or LTI importCurriculum is authored in Coursio. Packaged courseware from another system does not import.
  • No accreditationA certificate proves completion inside your school. Coursio does not confer or broker any accredited qualification.
  • No cross-school discoveryThere is no Coursio marketplace. Learners arrive through your own storefront and nowhere else.
  • Provider allowances unresolvedVideo, storage and email allowances read Configuration required after provider PoC until that decision lands.

Evaluate it with one course and one instructor.

You do not need to migrate an academy to find out whether the ceilings hold. Open a school, publish one course, assign one instructor and watch a single completion turn into a proof.

  1. Step 1Open the schoolBrand it, connect a domain, keep it unlisted while you look.
  2. Step 2Publish one courseFour modules is enough to see the drip and publish rules behave.
  3. Step 3Assign one instructorSign in as them and confirm the ceiling matches the table above.
  4. Step 4Read one proofComplete the course yourself and verify the code that comes out.
